It has been one of the NBA’s worst kept secrets that the Houston Rockets plan to fully pursue Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard when he hits free agency, and now the team is willing to do anything in order to free up as much cap space as they can before they prepare to ramp up their efforts to recruit Howard to H-Town.

The plan for Houston is to dump Carlos Delfino and/or Aaron Brooks, so the team is making a last ditch effort to trade one of the two players before or during the NBA Draft.

Per ESPN.com’s latest list of trade rumors:

"The Houston Rockets are doing anything and everything they can to move Aaron Brooks or Carlos Delfino in conjunction with the draft before they’re forced to just let them go in order to create as much cap space as possible for the long-planned pursuit in free agency of Dwight Howard."

Houston will certainly be an attractive option for Howard when they clear up the cap space, especially with the talent they already have on the roster including James Harden and Jeremy Lin.

Howard really hasn’t tipped his hand as to where he would like to go play next season, but all signs point towards the Houston Rockets being near the top of the list.
