New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz wants to get paid and he’s apparently willing to sit out training camp to get his way.

Despite that, neither side appears to be all that interested in being the bad guy and it’s expected that the two sides will come to an agreement on a contract in the near future – possibly as soon as the next ten days.

Per FFToolBox:

"ESPN’s Chris Mortensen said during Tuesday’s edition of “NFL32” that he would be “shocked” if the two sides didn’t reach an agreement on a long-term deal before the start of next month’s training camp. Mortensen then got specific, saying that he thinks that deal could come within “the next 10 days.”"

Cruz has told the Giants he wants at least $9 million a season, a hefty jump from the $2.87 million dollar tender he signed nearly two weeks ago.

The Salsa dancing Cruz had yet another fantastic year during the 2012 season, posting a career high in receptions and in targets though was consistently facing double (and at times triple) teams which ate into his yardage. Cruz finished the season with an impressive 10 touchdowns.
