It’s not been a great week for Aaron Hernandez and the former New England Patriots star is watching as the evidence against him mounts to what seems to be a very incriminating case. Two weeks ago he was the No. 1 tight end for the New England Patriots and today he’s in police custody, listening as the district attorney reads off the gruesome details of how they allege he killed Odin Lloyd.

According to Boston Globe reporter Wesley Lowery, the District Attorney is saying that Hernandez himself murdered Lloyd by shooting him a total of five times. Hernandez allegedly shot Lloyd three times right after he got out of a car and then stood over him while he shot him two more times in the chest.

Before this, we just knew that Hernandez was likely involved in the murder but the District Attorney is painting a haunting picture of a demon posing as a football player. The image you get from hearing that description of Lloyd’s murder is cold, ruthless and tears sympathy away from Hernandez.

Of course he’s been charged with murder but he’s not yet been convicted of it yet. The courts will now decide Hernandez’s fate and it’s not up to anyone else besides a jury and a judge to say whether Hernandez is ultimately guilty or not. If not convicted, Hernandez wouldn’t be the first guy to ever be charged with murder and have it reversed.

But the evidence so far is not stacked in his favor and the more this case continues and the more the prosecution paints an ugly and menacing picture of the former Patriots tight end, the lower his public image will sink.
