Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is the No. 1 Player in the NFL According to NFL Network

NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players of 2013” is one of the most watched television shows as it has methodically counted down the best players in the NFL as voted on by players themselves.
According to NFL Network and NFL players themselves, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is the No. 1 player in the NFL.
Peterson’s throne at the top of the NFL is well deserved. Just months after a very serious knee injury that would keep a normal human being out of action almost a year, Peterson returned at the beginning of last season and rushed for 2,097 yards.
The performance was so great that Peterson was named the MVP. He figured that fact alone would have landed him at No. 1 on the list (via Dan Hanzus of NFL.com):
"“I had a good feeling without being cocky that I would be No. 1,” Peterson said on the “Top 100” aftershow. “I kind of made that assumption with the MVP. I was like, ‘Well, I don’t see how I wouldn’t be No. 1 knowing that I won MVP,’ so I kind of put myself there.”"
There’s really no other player the list could have placed at No. 1. The scary part about having Peterson’s name at the top of the list is he’s just getting started. There are still plenty of big things in store from Peterson as far as we’re concerned.
