When the clock strikes midnight on the East Coast, the 2013 NBA free agency season is set to get underway which means every players not locked into a contract will hit the open market in some way. One of those player definitely hitting the market is Andrew Bynum who basically got paid to have bad haircuts and bowl last year in Philadelphia.

But despite the absolute lack of production last year, HoopsWorld is reporting that there will be no shortage of interest in Bynum once teams can officially talk to him.

"There will be no shortage of interest in unrestricted free agent center Andrew Bynum once teams are allowed to contact free agents at 12:01 a.m. EST tonight, according to sources close to the situation. The source specifically mentioned the Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers as two teams expected to reach out"

This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise as Bynum is an elite center when he’s healthy. But the problem is he hasn’t been healthy in years and even when he was playing with the Los Angeles Lakers it wasn’t clear that he was operating at 100 percent.

The Cleveland Cavaliers seem to be the front runners to land Bynum as they have money to offer and the other team closely tied with Bynum pulled their name out of the hat. With the Portland Trailblazers out of the running, the path has opened for the Cav’s but plenty of teams around the NBA will see what they can get Bynum for as if the price is right, he might be worth the gamble.
