The Utah Jazz met with free agent forward Paul Millsap to try and convey how badly they want him to stay in town and be a part of the future with the team. Being the team’s main star moving into the future is something the Jazz tried to sell him on but what they didn’t do, according to Jazz beat writer Bill Oram, was offer him a contract.

A few months ago it didn’t sound like there was a very good chance of Millsap returning to the Jazz but now that free agency has begun and Utah is showing a big interest in bringing him back, there appears to still be light at the end of the tunnel in terms of Millsap returning to Utah in 2013-14. He’d be a star with the Jazz and even more importantly he’d help fill out a nice big man rotation as well with Enes Kanter.

It all comes down to price though as the two sides might end up coming in very far apart and with Millsap expected to get some serious attention on the open market, he may not wait around for the Jazz to increase an offer they make if they even make one.
