Brad Stevens is your new head coach of the Boston Celtics. He’s got some serious work cut out for him this offseason as his elite point guard Rajon Rondo has been involved in a plethora of NBA trade rumors that have seen him winding up in a variety of places while the Celtics jump-start a rebuilding process.

The Celtics are certainly rebuilding, but Stevens sounds like he plans on having Rondo as part of that process (per Rotoworld):

"Ainge and company mentioned the rebuilding process and terms like “period of change” were thrown around in the introductory press conference. Stevens mentioned he is a fan of Rajon Rondo and has already talked to him. The former Butler coach was saying all the right things and stressed the importance of getting to know all the people he’ll be working with."

So there you have it. Stevens is saying all of the right things from the get-go. Of course, we’d expect him to say the right things when it comes to the NBA’s greatest talent at point guard.

Still, expect Rondo to stick around—as long as he wants to, at least. It’s going to be a long rebuild in Boston.
