Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon will be on the sideline for the first four games of the 2013-14 NFL season thanks to a suspension from the league. Now, Blackmon could get a late start to the preparation for the season because of a recent groin surgery that could cause him to miss some of training camp and preseason.
According to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, Blackmon could be ready to go for the start of training camp, but there is no certainty.
The surgery limited Blackmon during minicamps and forced him to miss the final session.
The good news for Blackmon is that he will be fully recovered for his return on Week 5, but the lack of preparation leading up to the start of the season could hurt Blackmon as he attempts to make a big impact as soon as he is able to return to the field.
