There are many teams that have been involved with NBA rumors concerning free agent center Andrew Bynum, but the Cleveland Cavaliers may have just moved to the forefront of NBA free agency with a recent report stating the team’s interest.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein via Twitter, the Cavaliers could be gearing up for a run with a serious offer:

Rotoworld had recently reported on the Cavs’ interest in Bynum:

"Cleveland has a nice young group on the perimeter and owner Dan Gilbert might not be afraid to take a chance to solidify their interior presence. Cleveland was 29th in field goal shooting last season, which is a strength of Bynum’s game. The Sixers are extremely unlikely to bring Bynum back and seem willing to chalk this up as a mistake."

Although it had been mentioned in the past, this is the first we are truly hearing about Cleveland’s supposed interest in Bynum. It makes some sense even after the events of the NBA draft, but both sides have to be interested. We have yet to hear what Bynum truly wants to do.

Keep an eye out for this one to get interesting. The Cavaliers certainly have the money to make something work.
