New England Patriots Tim Tebow Only to Take Reps at Quarterback, not Tight End?

With the New England Patriots dealing with the Aaron Hernandez situation, there were rumors that the Pats could attempt to try out Tim Tebow at the tight end slot. Of course, they seemed a bit outlandish and today we’ve learned that the Patriots have no intention of using Tebow at any position other than quarterback, at least according to Field Yates.

Per ESPN Boston:

The question likely won’t go away until training camp, but our stance on the matter won’t change: Don’t count on Tim Tebow to work as a tight end, or any other position besides quarterback. While Tebow has a burly, 6-foot-3, 245-pound frame, position switches are not simple in the NFL. But perhaps more importantly, there’s enough for Tebow to learn and master as it relates to his quarterback duties with the Patriots. That’s plenty for any newcomer to absorb.

It never seemed very likely the Patriots would throw Tebow to the wolves at the tight end position and if you’re to believe Yates and ESPN Boston, it wont be happening at all. Of course, if the Patriots struggle to find themselves a competent tight end in the next month or two, anything is possible.
