Texas A&M’s Damontre Moore grew up in DeSoto, Texas a suburb of Dallas. And as a kid he grew up as a Dallas Cowboys fan. It must have been hard then to be drafted by the Cowboy’s rival the New York Giants.

“I grew up a Dallas fan and, you know, I always watched the Giants,” Moore told the Landry Hat this week. “Those were always the guys beating Dallas, and I like, I didn’t like them. Now, that I’m on that side, I can be with the winning team.”

It is weird for someone to so quickly take a shot at his childhood favorite teams. More seasoned vets like Tony Romo and Aaron Rodgers haven’t even taken shots at their favorite child hood teams.

It might have cost him a few friends in the process who surely are Cowboys fans having grown up in the DFW metroplex.

Either way, you can’t say he is wrong. The Giants have owned the Cowboys and won 7 out of the last 10 games between the two. They sent the Cowboys home in their first playoff game in 2007 after a bye week that included a famous trip to Cabo. They also spoiled the Cowboys home opener at their new stadium in Arlington, and quarterback Eli Manning signed the wall.

If anything is certain, it probably helped his standing with Giants fans.
