A trend to help simplify the new NFL restrictions on bags that are allowed in the stadiums is beginning with a few teams in the Midwest.
The Indy Star reports that the Indianapolis Colts will be sending their season ticket holders free bags that will be accepted into the stadium. Each person in the group or family is able to bring in one bag.
New England Sports Network gives a brief summary of what bags will be accepted under the new NFL restrictions.
"Starting during the NFL’s preseason, fans will only be allowed to bring in bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.” Restricted items include: any purse larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, seat cushions and camera bags."
Those free bags will be sent in August in time for the preseason games at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Kansas City Chiefs announced that they would do a similar giveaway with their season ticket holders in June. Don’t be surprised if there are more franchises that do the same to both help any confusion and to make people aware of the new restrictions.
