The Chicago Cubs have been involved in a variety of MLB trade rumors this offseason primarily focused on star pitcher Matt Garza.

Garza may be on his way out, but it appears the Cubs are close to adding another pitcher. You may not recognize the name, but Jen-Ho Tseng is the man the team is close to signing and he is a well-known international talent.

Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com was the first with the news:

"Tseng, who is ranked No. 29 on MLB.com’s list of Top 30 international prospects, is expected to command a bonus just north of $1.5 million. The club has not confirmed the report.Tseng, 18, is a known commodity in the international baseball world and was being pursued by several teams, including the Twins. The teenager is known for his upright, quick delivery and a fastball that can reach 95 mph. Poised and aggressive, Tseng also throws a curveball and slider."

It seems the Cubs are staying active when it comes to pitchers. Rumors say they are trying to extend Garza rather than trade him, but the safe bet is his being shipped off soon.

Perhaps the Cubs’ new international star is being groomed to replace him.
