NBA Trade Rumors: Cavs Open to Trading Varejao, Tristan Thompson, Anthony Bennett?

The Cleveland Cavaliers are involved in a lot of NBA free agency talk right now after bringing on Earl Clark and potentailly signing big man Andrew Bynum.

Add the Cavaliers to the list of teams involved in NBA trade rumors as well.

Apparently the Cavaliers could be opening to trading one of Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson, first-round pick Anthony Bennett or Earl Clark.

At least, according to  Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio:

Whether they land Bynum or not, the Cavs could be open to moving one of their power forwards prior to the start of the season. Right now, Varejao, Tristan Thompson, Kevin Jones, newcomer Earl Clark, and No. 1 overall draft pick Anthony Bennett are all capable of playing the position.

We highly doubt Bennett is going anywhere. The same goes for the recently-signed Clark. Varejao could be on the move and is probably the most attractive trade piece the Cavs will be willing to offer at this point.

One thing’s for sure—the Cavs have a lot of talent and not enough minutes to go around. The smart thing would be to make a move and stock up at another position.

What do you think the Cavs will do?

LeBron IS a Small Foward! Of course they WOULD leave that position open.
Potential starting five for the 2014-2015 NBA Season

      PG – Kyrie Irving

      SG – Dion Waiters

      SF – LeBron James

      PF – Anthony Bennett

      C – Andrew Bynum

If healthy, that would represent the sickest starting five in the league!

Really ?? Not sure I buy into any of the guys mentioned as trade bait . They love TT , Clark just signed , First overall draft pick Bennett isn’t going anywhere and Andy hasn’t played a game yet this year to entice anyone of his real value . I mean the Bynum’s deal is only 6 million when you break it down , so Andy wont be traded for any value as of now . I think everyone is trade-able at some point but I feel this article is just a rumor without any legs

I think the Cavs should trade Varejao, TT, Alonzo Gee, and their first round pick in 2014 and possibly 2015 as well in order to get Kevin Love. He is the best power forward in the game, and a starting lineup of Irving, Waiters, Bennett, Love, and Bynum is amazing. Talk about the Cavs competing for a championship. And they would still have great depth with Jack, Miles, Karasev, Clark, and Zeller. That is a really good team. And the trade works well for both teams. And there is still Metta World Peace out there or another free agent we could pick up like Greg Oden to add depth at the center position.
