Johnny Manziel ‘Recovering From Dehydration’

It’s been a wild Sunday of news surrounding the one and only Johnny Football. No one seems to spark controversy quite like the Heisman Trophy winner, but that’s what you get when you are a star quarterback looking to lead a team that is in title contention.

It all started when the rumors began that Manziel was kicked out of the Manning Passing Academy after sleeping through meetings. Manziel was at the camp as a counselor and he allegedly had some wild nights out both Thursday and Friday nights. Of course, the Manning Camp denied those reports and simply said Manziel was sent home on Saturday because he was “ill”.

Those of us who have enjoyed the college life know that is usually code for hungover. Hey, we can’t be mad at Manziel if that is the truth. I’m sure we have all called off sick following a few nights out.

After the Manning statement, it was reported that Manziel was recovering from “being sick” by partying it up back in College Station on the strip. Manziel was reportedly spotted at a hookah bar by multiple students throughout the night.

Now, Johnny Manziel’s father has decided to jump in the mix.

According to Mr. Manziel, Johnny is at home recovering from “dehydration”.

Okay. So he is “ill” and “dehydrated” after being spotted out numerous times. But hey, who are we to judge.

Here is what Manziel’s father said, via Kate Hairopoulos of The Dallas Morning News:

We won’t ever know the real story, but it really won’t matter in the end if Manziel can stay focused throughout the season and come on strong.

As long as he isn’t dealing with dehydration and sleeping through meetings during the season, Manziel will be just fine.

One thing we can’t wait to see is the wild media circus that will be taking place during the SEC Media Days, which Manziel will be attending.
