Matt Garza of the Chicago Cubs is the hottest name in baseball right now with his name involved in so many MLB trade rumors, but here is one that should not shock you—the Cubs are still asking for a huge amount in return for his services.

Plenty of teams such as the Cleveland Indians have been keeping tabs on Garza and presumably have an interest in trading for him. According to ESPN’s Buster Olney via Twitter, the price for his services remains very high:

Of course the price remains high with so many days left until the deadline. Remember that rumors had floated around recently that the Cubs were also interested in extending his contract. That is highly unlikely at this point, but it does look like a way for them to drive the asking price up.

Right now the Cubs are doing a smart job of keeping the price high. If they continue to do so a contender will more than likely bite right at the deadline.
