Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace has cleared waivers and is now a free agent. He has apparently been weighing his options, which supposedly come down to playing with the New York Knicks or taking his talents to…China.

It sounds as if World Peace is heading to China.

World Peace sent a text to Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv claiming he was taking his talents to China, despite meeting with the Knicks earlier in the day:

World Peace himself was on Twitter earlier in the day revealing to all that he has spent time talking with Yao Ming:

Take everything World Peace says with a grain of salt. Obviously. But, him taking his talents to China is not all that outlandish. It’s a strange move considering reports had said New York was his first choice and the team clearly had interest, but who knows what is going on in World Peace’s head.

He’s due to make a heck of a lot of money in China, but World Peace could be passing on another shot at a championship with the Knicks.

Stay tuned, we’re sure this will get crazier.
