The Brooklyn Nets landed Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry this summer, but it doesn’t feel quite official until the team presents its new players at a press conference and they actually hold their new uniforms.

On Thursday the Nets held a press conference, and no, it wasn’t to formally announce that the team has waived DJ White. Garnett, Terry and Pierce made their way to the podium to answer questions.

The overall mood in the room was pretty light. Pierce seemed a little distraught, admitting that the fact that he was no longer a Boston Celtic didn’t quite sink in until he saw his jersey in the locker room and sat down for the press conference. Kevin Garnett was goofing around but also stressed that it will be important to sacrifice in order for this deep of a team to function on a basketball court. Jason Terry was also asked some questions (surprising, right?), mostly about his relationship with Jason Kidd, with whom he won a championship in Dallas.

Speaking of coach Kidd, he set himself up for some potential future fines when asked about how he’s going to limit everyone’s minutes. He stressed that it’s important to keep everyone healthy for the playoffs, even if it means some of the players sitting out some games, something Gregg Popovich found out to be quite expensive last season.
