As a NFL fan you most likely play fantasy football. Fantasy football can be like the wild wild west at times and you need a trust worthy commissioner to weed out the shady trades and deals people try to make once they’ve deemed themselves “out of the running.”

And while fans will stoop to any level to try to win their league or get insider info, what if you actually played in the NFL and could affect the outcome of the game?

Maurice Jones-Drew was on Sirius XM Radio Wednesday and shared a story when fantasy football met real life.

“Greg Jones — see he’s not on the team anymore — perfect example: I was playing against him (in fantasy),” MJD said, per LarryBrownSports.com. “And we have our equipment guys keep us up on (the fantasy scores) during games. You know who you have and you see when you’re not on the field obviously but … I think if I scored, I was going to (beat Jones).

“We got onto the 1-yard line, and they were like, ‘We better call this run play.’ I’m like, ‘Greg, don’t do it.’ And he looked at me and he winked. And I was like ‘Greg.’ It’s not time to play. This is bigger than (winning in fantasy). Let’s not do this.”

Asked what the wink meant, MJD answered, “(Jones) wasn’t going to block the guy!”

I haven’t been able to figure out which game this is yet after an admittedly very half-assed search. But I’m assuming Jones made the block and didn’t risk the scorn of his teammates.
