Gatorade High School Athlete of the Year Award Andrew Wiggins has plenty of hype surrounding him as an NBA prospect, without even playing a minute in college. However, he will get that chance this season. Of course, many expect Wiggins to be a one-and-done player at the collegiate level, and he already has his eyes set on a certain NBA franchise.

If Wiggins would have his choice, he would prefer to play for the Toronto Raptors.

I would like to say the Raptors, I want to play for them,” Wiggins told esnewsreporting.com, via the Toronto Sun.

Wiggins grew up in Thornhill, which is a Toronto suburb.

However, Wiggins’ immediate focus is on winning a national championship with the Kansas Jayhawks before likely making the leap to the NBA next season.

Unfortunately for Wiggins, landing with the Raptors would be a stretch.

When you look at some of the poor rosters currently in the NBA, the Raptors would have to completely pack it in and intentionally forfeit every game if they wanted a shot at landing the consensus 2014 No. 1 pick.

The good news for Wiggins is that he could always come home after his rookie contract expires if he is still looking for a new home. Until then, he will have to get comfortable with the idea of playing elsewhere.
