The Chicago White Sox are a team slowly getting hotter and hotter when it comes to MLB trade rumors, primairly thinks to some of the elite arms on the staff.

Addison Reed isn’t helping things either.

Apparently Chicago is open to dealing the righty, and teams like the Detroit Tigers supposedly have interest according to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe:

"Reed is available, though the price will be much steeper than it was for Matt Thornton, or will be for Jesse Crain once he’s ready to pitch after being on the DL. Reed could draw interest from a number of teams needing a closer or late-inning reliever. There’s been a lot of speculation about the Tigers being a player for him, but would GM Rick Hahn deal him to a division rival? All indications are he would if the return was decent."

The White Sox appear to be sellers as we head for the deadline. Every time the team is brought up it is mentioned as a candidate to ship someone off, not bring talent in to be competitive this year.

That’s not a bad thing. Reed is a name that could net the team some nice value for the future. Expect the Tigers-Reed rumors to gain some traction here as we get closer to the deadline.
