Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel continues to live under the microscope as the media discusses the events that took place last weekend during the Manning Passing Academy in Louisiana. By now, you have all heard that late-night partying led to Manziel sleeping in and missing staff meetings, but a source that was with Manziel at the camp is strong denying any of those reports and rumors.

That story about him being in New Orleans is 100 percent BS,” a source that was with Manziel when he went out on Friday night during Manning Camp told CBS Sports.

Manziel has publicly denied being hungover or that partying was the reason for his sleeping in and missing meetings, so it has to be comforting for him that a report is finally backing him up instead of showing him in a negative light.

During SEC Media Days last week, Manziel spoke about the incident and said that it was a simple mistake that included his phone dying and oversleeping.

“I made a mistake and didn’t wake up in time when I should have, and that’s pretty much the end of that,” Manziel said. “Missing the meeting wasn’t anything due to the night prior. It wasn’t anything involved in that. It was just simply my phone died, I overslept, I woke up the next morning whenever I did, went and talked to them and it was kind of a mutual decision to get home and get some time to relax.”

Hopefully Manziel is telling the correct version of the story, but in a few weeks none of it will matter.

People will forget how much Manziel may or may not party and they will turn their focus to his on-field play, which will be over analyzed every minute that he is out on the gridiron. The next time that Manziel is forced to answer questions about his partying and off field adventures will be when he is preparing for the NFL Draft and speaking with NFL personnel members.
