Cincinnati Bengals fans got a little scare during today’s training camp session when the medical staff needed to come out on to the practice field to exam star wide receiver A.J. Green after he went down with what appeared to be a leg injury.

Green was on his feet as the medical staff checked out his left knee, according to Geoff Hobson of the Bengals official website.

Hobson states that Green was being covered by defensive back Terence Newman as he was going after a deep ball from quarterback Andy Dalton. The ball carried out of bounds when they were tangled up and went down.

The good news for the Bengals fans is that Green was able to walk off of the field without a noticeable limp and he didn’t appear to be in serious pain.

Losing Green to a knee injury would have been obviously devastating for a Bengals team that is looking to make a run at the AFC North title this season and potentially a deep playoff run.

Last season, Green hauled in 97 catches for 1,350 yards and 11 touchdowns.
