According to Mike Klis on Twitter, the Denver Broncos have signed the #28 overall draft pick defensive tackle Sylvester Williams to a 4 year contract.

The contract is said to be worth $7.6 million including a $3.8 million signing bonus, $6.086 million of which is guaranteed. Williams was one of just a handful of first-round drafted players who have yet to sign.

The former North Carolina Tar Heel is looking to become an anchor for the front-line of that Denver Broncos defense. A defensive line that includes Derek Wolfe, Robert Ayers, Mitch Urein, Terrance Knighton, Kevin Vickerson, Malik Jackson and another defensive rookie Quanterus Smith.

A group of talented defensive linemen should give offenses some problems this season, as Denver added a couple key pieces to their hopeful Super Bowl puzzle. This could very well be the year of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos if key contributors of this team were to stay healthy.
