Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh wants to win. While speaking with the Detroit Free Press, Suh indicated that he’d be open to talking about a contract extension if it’d be beneficial to the team:

"I think my track record has kind of proven that, especially with the restructures and things I’ve done in the past. I’m not opposed to anything. I’m open to, pretty much, all situations, all opportunities, especially if it’s allowing us to get the wins."

Suh, an unstoppable force on defense, went on to discuss his label of being the best defensive tackle in football:

"It doesn’t mean anything if you’re the best player in the world or whatever if you’re winning games and you’re not winning as a team. That’s just a compliment someone can give you and an opinion someone can give you, as saying you’re the best. Because it’s not translating into wins."

Suh also talked about the three-year, $53-million extension quarterback Matthew Stafford signed earlier in July: “It’s a great, great contract. I’m very happy for him. I spoke with him that day. He’s elated. He said a couple comments to me that I’ll keep between us, but he wants to see the same thing reciprocated.”

The Detroit Lions open the 2013 season against the Minnesota Vikings on September 8th.
