Starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel and the Houston Astros defeated the Toronto Blue Jays today, 8-6.

Keuchel gave up 6 runs on 10 hits, including 3 home runs, 1 walk and struck out 6 batters while picking up his 1st win since June 16th. Dallas has an ERA of 4.63 in 103 innings this season, the southpaw has done a decent job this season for the last place Houston Astros. He completed a season high 7 1/3 innings of work.

Opposing pitcher Josh Johnson, struggled once again, giving up 7 runs over 5 2/3 innings, picking up the loss. Johnson also gave up 3 home runs himself, bringing his total to 14 allowed in just 73 1/3 innings this season. The 29 year old right handed pitcher now has a 6.08 ERA through 14 starts. He had 8 strike outs this afternoon, but opposing batters didn’t have a problem squaring him up.

Houston Astros Matt Dominguez finished the day 2-4 with a home run with 2 RBI’s today. He launched a solo homer in the top of the 4th inning  and later added an RBI single. The 23 year old entered Saturday, hitting just .180 with 2 home runs.

Jose Bautista went 2-4 himself, with a 3 run home run. His 3 run blast off Dallas Keuchel in the 8th inning brought the Blue Jays within 2 runs, but they would fall short. Bautista has hit 4 home runs in his last 9 games, having a total of 24 on the year.

Jose Veras picked up a save, recording 5 outs. He has converted 11 straight save chances and now has an ERA of 2.93, 44/14 K/BB ratio over 43 innings. Veras could  possibly be a trade candidate for teams looking for help closing games.
