The Atlanta Braves are another team seeing their names increasingly used in the world of MLB trade rumors with the deadline in a few days.
Apparently the Braves are serious about finding an upgrade as far as pitching goes, and the decision makers consider Jake Peavy of the Chicago White Sox and Ervin Santana of the Kansas City Royals as massive upgrades.
Mark Bowman of MLB.com has the reports:
The #Braves focus remains on landing a reliever. But still evaluating cost of the SPs (Peavy, Santana) they view as legit upgrades

Given depth of ATL's rotation and cost to land a SP, it seems the #Braves are more likely to land a reliever and/or backup infielder.

Bowman is probably right here. The asking price for starting pitching on the market this year is absolutely insane, so if anything, expect the team to land bullpen help, not starting help. That’s not exactly a bad thing either way, especially considering the bullpen is already a strength.
A good thing to note about any trade involving the Braves is the team is not worried about the money it has to spend. It’s more concerned with the talent it will have to give up, which seems to be the right kind of approach to this year’s market.
