Many consider former No. 2 overall pick Reggie Bush to still be a bust, despite the running back having plenty of solid seasons throughout his NFL career. After stops with the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins, Bush now joins the Detroit Lions where he will still be looking to prove that he was worth a top pick.

One thing that Bush definitely has going for him is the fact that he has not been a workhorse back in his career, so he has plenty of mileage left on his body, which bodes well for the Lions who plan to make him their featured back in 2013.

I really didn’t get beat up early in my career,” Bush said. “The last two years in Miami was the first time I really experienced that 20 to 25 carry range. I feel good. I’ve really played injury free both seasons [in Miami].

“I still feel good. I still feel like I have a lot to prove and a lot of football left in me and I’m just getting started.”

If Bush’s best football is still ahead of him, then the Lions will be in for a treat.

They were hoping to see an improvement in their running game when the picked up Bush in free agency, so it could turn out to be just what the doctor ordered.
