Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson once rushed for 2,000 yards in a season. He’s also raced a Cheetah in a special that will air this fall. Yet some are speculating that the 28 year old running back has lost a step.

“It’s baffling to me when somebody can sit here and say I lost a step,” Johnson told Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com. “They don’t know what they are talking about.”

Even if Chris Johnson lost a step he’d still be faster than just about everyone. Chris Johnson does know why his numbers have dipped off, and that blame lies with the bodies underneath the passing bus.

“If you really know football, and watch the game, you know I don’t have to make any excuses. I am not that type of guy anyway. I’ve never been the guy who complains about the line or anything like that,” Johnson said, apparently with a straight face. “You just roll with it. But look at the other backs in this league — Adrian (Peterson), (Arian) Foster, (Jamaal) Charles. Look at their tapes, they have room to run.”

Maybe if you stopped throwing the offensive line under the bus they’d block for you. Just thinking out loud here.
