The Seattle Seahawks have just lost newly acquired WR Percy Harvin for most of the upcoming season with a hip injury, and are hoping that they can keep what they still have. Sidney Rice has been an important player for the Seahawks since arriving there back in 2011. But was apparently hurt during the NFC divisional round game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Head coach Pete Carroll said earlier today that Rice was recovering well, and should be ready to play in the first game. This however is a scary thought for Seahawks fans, because if Rice was to miss any amount of games with his injuries, the offense could be depleted. And that’s even with a star quarterback in Russell Wilson, who is looking to keep the momentum from his rookie season.

After the announcement of Harvin’s imminent surgery, the Seahawks will be looking to Golden Tate and Sidney Rice as their primary offensive weapons, along with Marshawn Lynch of course. I personally don’t know if they could afford to lose Rice for any amount of time, they need him on the field.

Rice has been riddled with injuries over his career, so it’s hard to say if this treatment in Switzerland will actually help him a lot, but only time will tell.
