The Denver Broncos have plenty of talent in the defensive backfield, but the team could be losing some depth after a scary scene during Wednesday’s training camp practice.

According to Lindsey Jones of USA TODAY, free agent acquisition Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie went down with what looked like a potentially serious leg injury.

Jones said that Rodgers-Cromartie placed no weight on his leg as he was helped to the locker room after being carted off of the practice field.

We will obviously not know exactly how bad the injury is until the team is able to conduct further evaluation, but the early feeling is that it could be some bad news. Anytime a player can’t put weight on your leg you know that the injury isn’t very good. Hopefully Rodgers-Cromartie was just really shaken up.

There have been plenty of season-ending injuries throughout the early portion of training camp around the league, but the Broncos will be holding their breath as they await the results on Rodgers-Cromartie.

Rodgers-Cromartie signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Broncos in mid-March.
