The Indianapolis Colts made an underrated free agent signing this past offseason by adding former Arizona Cardinals cornerback Greg Toler, but their newest defensive back is already on the sidelines during training camp. Toler should be ready for the start of the season, but he will be out for the foreseeable future.

Toler suffered a concussion earlier this week during practice that held him out of today’s practice session.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said that the injury is not believed to be serious, but the team will follow the proper protocol set by the league for dealing with concussions.

“It’s not real serious,” Pagano said.  “Again, it is one of those deals where you have to go through the protocol so I think he was tested today and they will do some treadmill running and things like that.  They will go through the proper protocol, test him again tomorrow and then we just wait until they release him just like when it happens during the season, you still got to go through the normal protocol.”

Toler will now need to be cleared by an independent neurologist.
