Green Bay Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy has been subjected to a lot of criticism this off-season after a picture of him looking especially out of shape went viral. His performance at Green Bay’s Family Night scrimmage on Saturday, however, should at least somewhat halt the fat jokes.

According to reports, Lacy dominated the evening. He finished the scrimmage with 65 yards on only 8 carries (good for a staggering average of 8.1 yards per carry) and left a strong impression on his teammates and coaches.

Fellow running back Alex Green said Lacy’s conditioning didn’t appear to be a problem:

"He went in there and proved he could run the ball effective. Even when he was a little bit winded he still ran hard and finished runs. Picked up the blitzes when he had to. I thought he did great. (Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel)"

Running backs coach Alex Van pelt was also complimentary:

"His conditioning is good. You see what he can do with his speed and cuts. His change of direction has been really good. That’s where he shines. He can stick his foot in the ground."

So, now that the whole Eddie-Lacy-is-fat story has run its course, can people start pressuring him to bring back his awesome spin move?
