Reggie Bush could very well be the Detroit Lions solution when it comes to the half back position. Just like the Chicago Bears, they had question marks of their own when it came to one position. For Chicago, it was their quarterback position until they picked up Jay Cutler. For Detroit, it was their half back position.

Now that former the former New Orleans Saint/Miami Dolphin is now in Detroit, dressing up for the Lions, this year should be a lot better when it comes to production from this position.

Bush is a player that can do it all, doesn’t matter if it’s throwing a block, taking the ball from the backfield, receiving, he’s even a return man. Reggie Bush is pretty much Detroit’s very own Percy Harvin.

According to the Detroit Lions official website, veteran Reggie Bush has been “everything he was billed to be and more” during training cammp.

With the addition of Bush, Matthew Stafford won’t have to throw as much as he did last season, which was around 730 times. So I’m sure when Bush was signed by the Detroit Lions, Stafford must have let out a sigh of relief. On top of that, it gives him another target to look for, now Detroit can run screens with their half back instead of having to drop two steps and firing to Calvin Johnson right off the line.

Detroit should be a better team this season now that they have a reliable half back. That is, if he can manage to stay healthy.
