Running back Eddie Lacy had a strong performance in the Green Bay Packers scrimmage and is getting first team reps in drills. That has many, including ESPN.com’s Rob Demovsky, thinking that Lacy has locked down the starting running back role.

This is all on the heals of criticism towards Lacy regarding his weight.

If Lacy does lock down the starting running back position, Rotoworld speculates that he might be someone worth taking in middle rounds of your Fantasy draft.

"If Lacy indeed goes on to lock up all the early-down duties, he’ll be a value pick in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts. The Packers gave Cedric Benson 14.2 carries per game last year before a foot injury ended his season. Lacy is far more talented and explosive than Benson."

Aside from that, Lacy’s size would be ideal in goal line situations which means he could gobble up a bunch of touchdowns. The Packers find themselves in the red zone a lot.
