The St. Louis Rams traded up the number 8 spot to draft West Virginia wide receiver Tavon Austin. The Rams needed to replace departing wide receiver Danny Amendola, who never lived up to expectations due to multiple injuries. The Rams have focused on bolstering their offense this season specifically in the passing game and added former Tennessee Titans tight end Jared Cook as well.

From the St Louis Post-Dispatch:

"He has looked every bit worth the trade-up to No. 8 overall on the practice field at Rams Park. Now Tavon Austin — and the rest of the draft class of 2013, for that matter — get to go against enemy competition. It will be interesting to see how many ways Austin is used against the Browns. Receiver? Certainly. Returns? Probably. Running back? Stay tuned."

The Rams are definitely exploring putting Austin in positions to return punts.

From the St Louis Post-Dispatch:

"Rookie Tavon Austin, the No. 8 choice in the draft, could make his most significant contribution this season as a punt returner, where his breakaway speed and quickness will provide plenty of headaches for opponents."

That could improve Austin’s fantasy value tremendously if they’re finding ways to get the ball into his hands.
