Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins struggling in camp
By Mike Dyce
As Robert Griffin III rehabs from his ACL injury, quarterback Kirk Cousins has had plenty of first team reps. Partially due to RG3 being limited to only 7 on 7 drills. This could be an opportunity for Cousins to show of his skill, improve and increase his trade stock in an attempt to be traded for a starting job potentially.
Reports out of the Redskins training camp have depicted Cousins as sloppy. That is bad news for someone who was considered capable of starting for an NFL team. That could also put more pressure on RG3 to return Week 1 whether he is ready or not. If Cousins is playing inconsistently they wouldn’t want to open the season in a tough division down a game. It’d be hard to play catch-up in that division.
From the Washington Post:
"Kirk Cousins said he isn’t sure exactly how much he will play Thursday, although Mike Shanahan had somewhere between 10 and 15 plays, but possibly a little more. Cousins hasn’t had the sharpest of camps, so it’ll be interesting to see how he does in the game. He hasn’t been the accurate on a consistent basis, and on Tuesday, he had two passes batted down at the line of scrimmage."
