Now if you haven’t heard D.J. Hayden’s story, I will include a YouTube video about it that was featured on ESPN sometime in April.

Hayden is a man who is known to defeat the odds, the biggest one of them all, is he cheated survived something he wasn’t and second, playing football again when it looked as if he would never step foot on a football field as a player again.

Oakland Raiders rookie corner-back, had a life threatening injury on November 6th, with a deep pass over the middle, causing him to collide with a teammate, his teammate’s knee hitting him square in the chest.

Not only did he survive his injury, he became a first round draft pick for the Oakland Raiders.

Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie expects Hayden to make his exhibition debut in the third preseason game.

"“We’ll let him go full-bore, that third preseason game, the gloves come off.” McKenzie said in an interview with NFL.com"

McKenzie also said that Hayden is physically ready, but is still struggling with the mental aspect of the game.

"“He’s going to have to pull the trigger on some things, get the big hit, make plays, he’ll be back to normal mentally. His weight is right back, his strength, he’s been normal.” said McKenzie"

He may be a huge gamble for this Oakland Raiders team, but I have a feeling he is going to be a great corner-back for this team.
