The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed former 1,000 yard rusher and Madden Cover honoree running back Peyton Hillis. The Bucs were looking to replace the hard running style of LeGarrette Blount who is currently with the New England Patriots.
Rick Stroud is reporting that the injury he sustained is a hyper-extended left knee and not believed to be season-ending. Still it could hurt Hillis’ season by keeping him sidelined. He already is in a battle for a roster spot and being held out will only hurt. He also had a very mediocre showing in his 4 carries last night.
He rushed 4 times for a total of 13 yards, and average of 3.3 yards per carry. His yard per carry average was second best amongst running backs with 4 or more carries. Brian Leonard carried the ball 6 times for 23 yards and a 3.8 yards per carry average.
Bucs RB Peyton Hillis suffered a hyper-extended left knee Thursday vs. Ravens. The injury is not believed to be season-ending.
