The St. Louis Rams opened up their preseason by opening up with a match up against the Cleveland Browns. While the Rams are one of the up and coming teams in the NFL, they received some very unflattering comments from Bernie Kosar who was serving in the booth as the Browns play-by-play announcer.

Kosar let his homerism shine through and completely trashed the Rams by saying the team’s wide receivers were “horrible” and that they were embarrassing their parents. He continued to trash the team’s coaching staff and quarterbacks and head coach Jeff Fisher wasn’t too pleased when he heard about the comments his team was receiving.

Bernie’s got his issues. They’re well-documented,” Fisher said.

By showing a complete lack of respect to Fisher and the Rams, Fisher said that he lost any respect for Kosar as well.

“I guess I’m a little disappointed,” Fisher said. “I feel bad for them that they had someone doing the broadcast who would feel the need to speak that way about players, specifically on our team, and coaches for that matter. I’m just surprised that Bernie has such a lack of respect for players and for this game. So I lost a lot of respect for him.”

When you are an announcer, you are expected to keep a certain level of integrity.

Kosar failed.

For him to make the comments he made was a complete embarrassment. He should listen to his own words and realize that he was the one doing a horrible job and embarrassing everyone around him.
