ESPN: Kansas City Chiefs are “privately” concerned about Jamaal Charles injury
By Bryan Rose
While x-rays turned up negative, the Kansas City Chiefs are privately concerned about the foot injury sustained by starting running back, Jamaal Charles.
Speaking to SportsCenter this afternoon, NFL insider Adam Schefter suggested that the Chiefs brass is worried that Charles’ strained foot might become a serious problem.
Per Evan Silva:
"ESPN’s @AdamSchefter reported #Chiefs are “privately” concerned about Jamaal Charles’ foot. “Hoping for the best but bracing for the worst.”"
Head coach Andy Reid played relatively coy with the media when he announced Charles had a simple foot strain, but according to Schefter, it could be far worse.
Reid spoke to the media about an hour (give or take) after the injury so it was unlikely he knew much of the injury, sans the results of the x-rays which revealed no broken bones. There’s obviously been no word on any potential strains or tears, which will only be shown on an MRI.
The injury may be nothing more than the diagnosed strain, though, it’s slowly starting to sound more and more serious as the hours go by.
