The Jacksonville Jaguars have activated wide receiver Justin Blackmon from the active/physically unable to perform list.

Blackmon had been suffering from a groin injury. Blackmon will also be unavailable the first four weeks of the season as he serves a four game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

“I’ve made a mistake and I have no excuse,” he said in a statement at the time. “I am truly sorry and disappointed in myself for putting the Jaguars in this situation, and I look forward to putting this behind me and maturing and growing as a person. I will have a productive training camp and preseason with my team, and during the suspension, I will work hard to stay in top football shape and be ready to help the Jaguars when I return.”

His sideline demeanor in Friday’s preseason game was one of a restless football player. He’ll probably have to wait till the third preseason game to get some live action however and most likely won’t be ready for Saturday’s preseason opener.
