The Philadelphia Eagles signed former first-round pick Felix Jones during the offseason and he was eager for a chance to revitalize his career, but with a loaded backfield it looks like Jones’ roster spot may be in jeopardy. During a recent projection of the team’s 53-man roster, Jones missed the final cut.

In fact, the projection went as far as to say that Jones’ career could be over at just 26-years-old.

From the Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News:

"McCoy is clearly the 1, and while Polk had a tremendous camp, Brown is still clearly more gifted. I will note here that Chris Polk having a great camp was probably the best scenario for this RB group. Maybe that will push Brown, and the Eagles may very well have 3 very good backs. Felix Jones’ career might be over."

If Jones is released by the team before the start of the regular season, it is hard to imagine that he will not get another chance.

Jones has speed and the talent, but he has yet to put it all together. However, with all of the injuries that take place throughout the course of the season, it would be a surprise if Jones was available and his phone wasn’t ringing.
