Tennessee Titans safety Bernard pollard is regarded as one of the hardest hitting defenders in the NFL today. In a league trying to cut down on big hits in order to minimize injuries and concussions, Pollard’s kind are sadly being frowned upon now, as his physical style of play often results in multiple fines throughout the season.

Those big-hits aren’t limited to the regular season, as Pollard has already drawn a fine for a hit he made on Washington Redskins wide receiver Aldrick Robinson as Robinson was stepping out of bounds during the preseason opener.

The league announced today that they fined him $10,000 for the hit, which was also flagged for unnecessary roughness during the game.

After watching a replay of the hit this week, Pollard said he thought it was clean and he wouldn’t be fined:

"“I don’t think so,’’ he said. “You have to look at for me, as a defender, I am already coming in and already going in to make the hit, so I don’t see his other foot go out.  He was inbounds and his other foot finally went out.”"
