The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered Friday night’s Week 2 preseason game against the New England Patriots down a few starters and they went on to lose their best offensive player before the first half was over. In a moment that scared the Buccaneers, their fans and anyone who drafts their fantasy football teams way too early, Martin was shaken up after he too a knee to the head while he was in pass protection.

The good news for the Buccaneers is that Martin was able to leave the field under his own power.

There is no word on whether or not Martin suffered an injury of any kind while trying to pick up the blitz, but it is possible he suffered a concussion when he took the blow to the head. The team was also without Brian Leonard.

Without Martin and Leonard on the field, the Buccaneers were stuck with Peyton Hillis and Mike James in the backfield to pick up the duties and make up for the production that they had lost.

If we had to take a wild guess, Martin should be ready to go for the start of the regular season.
