I was just talking about how the Chargers have a handful of players who are currently out for the rest of the season. Not even an hour later, news on Eddie Royal leaving San Diego’s practice in an ambulance gets released.

What is going on with this team? When it comes to injuries this season, the Chargers are pretty much leading the entire league in this category.

I guess this is somewhat good news for wide receiver Robert Meachem who seems to be on the roster bubble despite having a good game against the Chicago Bears on Thursday night.

According to Michael Gehlken on Twitter, Royal fell hard to the ground while making a catch in 11 on 11 drills, then he was on his way to the locker room before collapsing to the ground in need of an oxygen tank. The ambulance came onto the field and Royal was strapped to a gurney and taken away from the practice facility.

There is no word yet on what is wrong with Royal, but the Chargers have to be holding their breath right now after losing another player on Thursday being Steve Williams.

Maybe someone shouted the name Jon Bostic. Too soon?
