While many expect the Green Bay Packers to name Eddie Lacy as their starting running back, the team continues to throw a wrench in that plan, today giving fellow back DuJuan Harris reps as the starter.

The Packers seem intent on giving Harris every opportunity to win the job, despite Lacy clearly outperforming him every step of the way.

Per Tom Silverstein:

"Harris first RB rep, Lacy second, Franklin third."

Lacy, who didn’t play in the Packers preseason opener debuted this weekend and looked fantastic, posting a rushing average of five yards per carry.

Thankfully for Lacy, despite the Packers giving Harris an extended run, it appears that both James Starks and Jonathan Franklin have played themselves out of any significant role so the starting job should be a battle between both Lacy and Harris.

It’s still likely that Lacy comes away with the gig, despite the Packers infatuation with getting Harris reps. Even if he doesn’t, Lacy will still factor in the Packers run game heavily.
