To excel at the top level of any sport, you need to have enormous amounts of confidence. For Chicago Bears return specialist Devin Hester, it is clear that he is not lacking in that department.

While discussing his NFL career to date, Hester made it very clear that he believes he is worthy of a spot in the Hall of Fame. In fact, Hester believes that he has already done enough in his career to have one foot in the door in Canton.

With a solid season this year, Hester believes that he will have earned his place among the NFL greats.

I have one foot in right now,” Hester said, via Mike Mulligan of the Chicago Tribune. “If I take three or four back this year, it should be considered 80 percent chance of making it. But I am not really worried about it right now. I am really focused on this season. After this season, when all the stats add up, hopefully it won’t be a question.”

When you think of the NFL greats, you don’t necessarily think of Hester, but as far as returners go he is as good as it gets.

The NFL is won in all aspects of the game, so if Hester goes down as one of the best returners of all time and continues to break records, he actually may be worthy.

It is a bit odd to think of Hester as a Hall of Famer, but he really could have a case by the time his career is over.
