When it comes to college football, no network has really challenged ESPN/ABC (Disney) and their coverage. However, with Fox Sports already having local coverage and now with their expanded national coverage thanks to Fox Sports One, it seems as if the Worldwide Leader is trying to step up their game.

At times, ESPN has featured some of the best commercials on TV, especially their Sportscenter promo commercials. Though, commercials for their NCAA coverage have been sub-par, usually taking clips from some of their pregame shows and smashing them all together in some low budget way.

That has changed, at least with their most recent offering which they’re deeming ‘The Beast’, a commercial featuring South Carolina’s Jadevon Clowney.

The spot takes a bit of a spoof on Clowney’s somewhat recent SEC media day comments that all SEC quarterbacks (along with Clemson’s Tajh Boyd in-particular) are terrified of the talented defender.

It’s a pretty solid offering from ESPN  – far better than their promo commercials from the past few years.
