TCU has always had creative and unique uniforms, even before they turned into fashion statements and marketing gimmicks.

That tradition hasn’t changed with the times.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Horned Frogs will be wearing a ‘blood streaked’ uniform which is in ‘tribute’ to their mascot, the horned frog which shoots blood from its eyes in self defense.

The uniforms (which can be seen below) are generally all black with hints of purple as an accent. There is also red trim on the jersey along with the ‘blood streaked’ red on the helmet, as if it’s come from the eyes of a player. The helmet is a weird mashup of purple and black, though, looks pretty nice in all honesty.

Team issued gloves and socks will also be sporting the ‘blood’ red on them.

The uniform is part of the Nike Pro Combat series which TCU enjoys to wear, this making it their fifth Pro Combat uniform since they debuted in 2009.

Also of note – weird choice on the model. Texas Christian University had Devonte Fields debut the uniform this afternoon, the same Fields who, despite being their best overall player will be out the first few weeks of the season after offseason trouble.
